So we’ve finally opened our doors, and despite the great initial response, its now time to do some marketing. The slower start gave us a little breathing room to hash out some of the outstanding annoyances. From the last shabu, it was obvious that once the spot starts going, fat chance you’re going to have any opportunity in the future to reconfigure and reorganize.
Mark Gerardi, who did our cherry blossom wall in our Costa Mesa location was able to come up with these dope waterjet steel door handles for us. Looking at the existing door, again one more time putting lipstick on a pig.
Our benches were made by this cool guy in the picture. Pollo and Rafa did an awesome job on making our custom benches.
Next detail: Bathroom hallway ceiling a la Andy Joe! Andy who you may remember as the nice little asian kid with a bunch of tattoos in Costa Mesa, also has some major art skills.
Shabu Shabu Comics!!!
So far so good! We hope you guys will come and join us in our opening festivities. This week is a soft opening, so please come on by and visit us. Our grand opening for friends and extended Shabu family will be this upcoming Sunday. Hope to see you soon!
